What the test actually measures
Four axes, scored separately: where your energy comes from, what you notice first, how you decide, and how tightly you plan your week.

How it works
Answer twenty statements
Four options each, no free text. About two minutes, and you can stop and come back.
Get four letters and four percentages
The letters are the type. The percentages show how strongly you lean on each axis — that's what splits people who share a type.
Measure again in other situations
Love, marriage, travel, work, money, food: when the situation changes, each theme measures your four letters again with 20 new questions. The test and your result's name are always free.
The test is free. You only pay for the 'why'
The test and your result's name
20 questions, your four letters, your result's name and line, how it differs from your usual type, and the share image. No sign-up needed, and the everyday, food, drink and flower themes are free all the way through.
The full result
Paid once per theme, no subscription. The lines that sound like you, who you click and clash with, your matching city or race plus four runners-up, each axis explained, where it breaks down and what to do, and why you changed from your usual type.
Which types lead in your city
Totals by city and country. Small samples stay hidden until the numbers mean something.
Questions people actually ask
- No. MBTI is a trademark of The Myers-Briggs Company, and typeandme is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by them. We wrote our twenty items ourselves, on the same four-axis self-report model.
- Because every theme's questions are written for that situation. A letter you only lean toward slightly day to day can flip when you travel or eat — and where it flips is the whole point of this site.
- Axis strength. A 52% J and an 88% J share a letter and very little else, so the same four letters split into different results.
- Your usual type lets the result show which letters changed. The character choice only picks the illustration and one paragraph of the report. Questions and scoring are identical either way, and you can change both at any time.
- Taking a test, seeing your result and sharing it need no account. You'll need one to see a comparison with a friend, a group's results, what your friends said in "How others see me", and to buy a full report. It takes ten seconds with Google, and your results are saved to your account on every device.
- The test, your type, your result's name and the share image are free on every theme. Everyday, food, drink and flower are free all the way through. On the other themes, what sits behind the result's name (the lines that sound like you, who you click with, your matching city or race, the detailed report) is the paid full result.
- On Lemon Squeezy, not here. We hand you to their checkout and never see or store card details.
- Digital reports are delivered immediately, so in the EU, EEA and UK you are asked to waive the 14-day withdrawal right at checkout. If a payment is refunded, access ends with it.
- No. Personal results live at an unguessable address that is blocked from indexing three separate ways. Only reference pages like the encyclopedia are indexed.
- The scored outcome, not your individual answers. Your IP is read once to work out a country and a city for the rankings, and is never written down.
- Make a comparison link on your result and send it. When they finish the same test on their phone, both results open side by side. If a friend shared their result with you, tap 'Compare with this person' on it.
- Yes. Create a group link from your result and drop it in your group chat. Everyone who takes the test through it lands on one page, with who should handle what and where you should all go. The test needs no account; the group page opens once you sign up.
