Night Market: which types it suits

Outdoors

Skewer in one hand, partner in the other, next stall already in sight

A night market is a street of food and stalls that only comes alive after dark. Seoul has seasonal night markets by the river and evening stalls at traditional markets, and in places like Taiwan and Thailand the night market is practically the main event of a trip. Every stall has its own smell, light and patter, and by the time you've shared one of everything, you're full of stories before you're full of food.

There's no set route, so it suits active couples who like improvising. You don't need to decide what to eat in advance, and the busier it gets, the better the atmosphere. If you want a quiet talk it can be a bit loud, but the ritual at the end, sitting on a bench nearby and voting on the best thing you ate, is the perfect way to close the night.
